An utterly glorious day in November!

We - the Canadians that live in Saskatchewan - rarely get days like this in November.

Usually there has already been weeks of hard frosts as well as snow, wind and ice.  On Saturday we had 19 Celsius!

Wow.

Friends and I made the most of it by driving to the valley to check out a craft sale, have lunch and then a stroll around Lumsden.

We even drove up to St. Michael's Retreat... alas, a retreat no longer.  It was sold by the church a couple of years ago because there was only a handful of Franciscan monks left and little money for its upkeep.

It's being renovated as a special event venue.   They still have many of the stations that had been designed for reflection and meditation.  We visited the labyrinth and hill top.

A good day with good friends.

We also visited the memorial in Lumsden - in honour and gratitude for those who died defending our country, as well as those daring to die who survived.
It seemed appropriate given Remembrance Day next week.
